Engineered stone is not regular granite
Engineered quartz can be 90%+ crystalline silica — far higher than natural granite. The dust load on a single dry-cut shift exceeds what most shop vacuums were ever designed for. A HEPA-filtered industrial vacuum sized to the tool is the difference between staying open and a closure order.
Dry-cut vs wet-cut
Wet methods suppress most respirable silica, but residual misting still requires HEPA cleanup. Dry-cut stations absolutely require source-capture HEPA at the saw, with airflow sized to the blade shroud.
Pole-grinder and hand-tool integration
Edge polishers and 4.5" hand grinders create some of the highest silica concentrations measured. We carry the shroud adapters that fit common Makita, Metabo and Alpha grinders.

- Source-capture HEPA paired with proper tool shrouds usually drops exposures below the action level, but a written exposure control plan still requires re-sampling to confirm.
