Typical project scenario
Lead Paint Window Replacement
Lead abatement · Texas
An RRP-certified renovator replacing 22 windows in a 1950s Houston single-family home used HireAVac for HEPA capture during demolition and for the §745.85 cleaning verification.
Challenge
The renovator's standard cleaning workflow had been failing the wet-wipe verification step on a third of jobs, triggering re-cleans that ate the margin on every project. EPA RRP inspectors had visited the firm the previous quarter and asked specifically about their vacuum's HEPA certification — the contractor didn't have current documentation.
Solution
HireAVac supplied a Dirt Eater Jr with current H13 filter certificate, plus the recommended wet-wipe verification kit. We trained the crew on the HEPA-then-wipe-then-HEPA sequence required for cleaning verification, and added the certificate to the renovator's RRP project file.
Results
- Cleaning verification
- Passed first attempt on all 22 windows
- Re-clean rate (since)
- 0% (was 33%)
- RRP documentation
- Complete — accepted by EPA inspector at follow-up
- Crew confidence
- Significantly improved per foreman
